Discover a world of fantasy as you encounter unicorns in art. Then Joyce will demonstrate how you can create your own magical unicorn and castle using fun collage materials you have at home or draw.

Supplies: collect materials for your picture such as wrapping or construction paper, glitter, or markers.

CLAY UNICORNS

Discover the magic of unicorns as you mold your animal out of self hardening clay. Decorate your unicorn with sparkly beads, feathers, necklaces, and more! (Video is 15 minutes.)

CREATE A CREATURE

Joyce guides you as you build your own three dimensional fantasy creature out of recycled stuff you stuff you have at home. Includes bonus project: Build a creature without using glue.

 

Supplies you'll need: cardboard rolls, recycled boxes or bottles, paper, decorations such as foam, stickers, ribbon and other fun stuff. Scissors, tape, and glue needed.

 

BE A PUPPETEER!

A princess! A unicorn! A monster! Discover the art of stick puppets and paper bag puppets using stuff you find at home. Put on a puppet show!

 

 Supplies you'll need:

Two sticks (cardboard strips), paper plate, decorations such as yarn, tissue paper, stickers, foam, fabric. Scissors, tape, and glue.

Inspired by Georgia O'Keefe, Joyce will show you how you can turn your favorite flowers into larger than life paintings or drawings. Includes bonus project: Watercolor Resist Shells. Use paint supplies or draw.

 

ART AROUND TOWN: Paper Sculpture

Go on an art adventure as you discover sculptures on Long Island. Then make your own amazing sculpture using fun filled paper folding techniques. Supplies you'll need: paper, glue, tape, scissors

GO GREEN! RECYCLED ROBOTS

Joyce Raimondo demonstrates how you can create your own-one-of-kind robot figure using 100% recycled items. Get inspired as Joyce shows you imaginary robots she and children created from recyceld junk. (This video is 15 minutes.)

 

Collect small and large boxes, cardboard rolls, bottle caps, buttons, yarn, ribbon, assorted papers, and anything else you find to buid your robot.

LIFE SIZED!

WILD WITCHES AND PLAYFUL PUMPKINS

Wild witches, playful pumpkins, marvelous monsters, and more! Create your own giant sized Halloween character using three-dimensional paper folding techniques and paper collage. Use scissors, glue, and papers you have at home. Hang it as a fun-filled Halloween decoration.


Includes Bonus Project: Make a Mask
Create your own one-of-a kind mask using box cardboard, bottle caps, ribbon, wrapping paper, and other fun stuff you find at home. You will need scissors, glue, and tape, papers, and any decorations you find at home.

WINTER WONDERLAND

AVAILABLE DECEMBER 1, 2020 - Celebrate the season as you work alongside artist-author Joyce Raimondo to make a giant snow person that is bigger than you! Make a curly hair for your snow lady or a top hat for your snow man and more. Learn paper folding techniques to create your snow man or woman using assorted papers and other supplies that are typically found at home. Bonus project included: create a winter wonderland collage using recycled holiday decorations and wrapping paper.

 FLOWERS INTO PAINT

Flowers that burst into color! Inspired by popular artist, Georgia O'Keefe, Joyce demonstrates how to design beautiful floral paintings that are larger than life. Capture the beauty of your favorite flower as you learn basic painting skills.
